Charter of The Presbyterian Corporation for the Cemetery of Neuchatel, County Nemaha and State of Kansas
The undersigned, citizen of the State of Kansas, do hereby voluntarily associate ourselves together for the purpose of forming a private corporation under the laws of the State of Kansas, and do herreby certify :
FIRST That the name of this Corporation shall be The Presbyterian Corporation for the Cemetery of the town of Neuchatel, County of Nemaha and State of Kansas.
SECOND That the purpose for which this corporation is formed, is to establish a Cemetary for the last repose of the dead of this town and its neighborhood, who were professing the protestant faith of any denomination and even of those not professing any. Said Cemetrey is situated in the South half of the Southeast quarter of Sec 32, Township 5, Range 11, containing five acres of land, surveyed & divided in 231 lots. These lots shall be sold for the purpose of burying the dead. The male owners of lots above 21 years of age are entitled to vote for the election of Directors or trustees. The proceed of the sale of lots shall be applied to pay the expenses to keep the Cemetery in good order, and the repair of house of worship.
THIRD That the place where its business will be transacted is at Neuchatel, County Nemaha and State of Kansas.
FOURTH That the term for which this corporation is to exist is ninety nine years.
FIFTH That the number of Directors Trustees of this Corporation shall be three and the names and residences of those who are appointed for the first year are : Cesar Surdez, President for three years Colin Rossier, Treasurer for two years Jonas Aim? Bonjour, Secretary for one year all of whom do reside at Neuchatel, Nemaha County and State of Kansas.
SIXTH That the estimated value of the lands owned by the Corporation is five acres of land estimated one hundred dollars. The land shall be divided into 231 lots twohundredthirtyone lots of five dollars each.
